Do You Know What GMAT? If not, then Read This!

If you are looking into various colleges or schools to apply to and you are seeing this post, then it is likely that you have come across the phrase GMAT throughout your research. The Graduate Management Admission Test, sometimes known simply as the GMAT, is a standardized examination typically required of prospective students as one of the prerequisites for enrolling in graduate programs associated with management or business, such as an MBA.

The admissions staff can evaluate the candidates' potential and competence for business school based on their performance on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT).

Format of the Test:

The examination is divided into four categories, the first being analytical writing. This portion assesses your critical thinking and ability to articulate ideas by asking you to concentrate on a single issue. An argument will be presented on this issue, and you will be required to analyze and criticize it.

The second section of the test is called integrated thinking, and it requires you to answer 12 questions on your ability to assess information. The quantitative evaluation comes next when you face facts you must analyze and derive conclusions from. The verbal component of the test assesses your ability to read and interpret written content and your capacity to analyze arguments and correct written text.

Test Scoring:

The range of possible scores is from 200 to 800, and each subsequent score is incremented by 10 points, for example, 695, 710, 720, and so on. The exam aims to evaluate the candidate's ability to analyze, write, calculate, and communicate verbally and quantitatively for admission to a graduate management school such as an MBA. Scores between 400 and 600 are received by around 70 per cent of those who take the exam.
